NSI Upcoming meeting - 2007 Annual Conference of Neurological Society of
India Dec 14-17, 2007 Agra.

Opening remarks by Dr. Jogi Pattisapu.

Treasurers report was reviewed.

Introduction
of Dr. David Adelson – President Elect CNS 2008
-
Dr. David Adelson announced the CNS has chosen India as their
International partner for the 2009 meeting in New Orleans, LA. The CNS
wants to identify the educational needs and initiatives which would be
most pertinent for the neurosurgeons from this part of the world.
-
Many suggestions were made from the membership and it appeared to be
well received. Recommendations were made to pursue the Indian
Government Education Fund, Airfare Grants, etc
-
Multiple opportunities exist with recent increased awareness of
neurosurgical issues in India and the members are urged to pursue such
leads and communicate with the members at large.
- Dr.
Ashwini Sharan gave an update on the AASAN ambassador program. All U.S.
neurosurgery program directors have received e-mail announcement of the
program. Additionally, Girish Hiremath will discuss his 4 month experience
at NIMHANS at the upcoming April meeting.
- The
AASAN brochure was distributed and received positive comments. Please
expect to receive your copy in the near future. (Kindly inform us of any
address changes)
- Dr.
Raj Narayan discussed the Fellowship Program and at this time there are no
applicants.
- The
meeting was adjourned for dinner at Masala Restaurant with support from Dr.
Rajinder Singh Dhada of Elekta.

with in-kind donations. We kindly request you forward dues to any of the officers.
SPECIAL
NOTE
We extend our respect and sincerest condolences
to Dr. Chander Kohli and his family for the loss of their son Aneal Kohli. Our
hearts are with the family in their time of grief.
